This profile concerns only: General notes and opinions
To those who choose to email me: please make at least some mention of your author name (if you have one), my author name, or at least a story (title, please!) I've almost deleted at least five by accident and I've probably deleted plenty more besides.

This profile is arranged in order of:
1. About the Mikki
2. All purpose disclaimer
3. Following the rules
4. On Self-insertions, Mary Sues, and “About You’s”

About the Mikki:
-20 year-old female
-A college student
-Enjoys sleeping, cruising on the net, reading manga or watching anime, other TV, drawing, writing, etc.

All purpose disclaimer:
Any piece of fanfiction I write is purely that: fanfiction. I do no pretend to own any of the characters (other than original ones that I might make up) from whatever series, etcetera, from which I pulled them. I will still probably put a disclaimer into most fiction pieces I write, but sometimes it is too much of an effort and, besides, if I did own the series, what reason would I have to write fanfiction?

Following the rules:
While it doesn’t matter much to me whether or not there are ANs as a separate chapter or if the rating is NC-17 (it’s your choice to read them and the rating doesn’t necessarily signify sexual scenes), please respect the rules placed on FF.net, DA.com, and any other website you might visit – everybody should follow the rules; no one person should be above the rules. Please show respect for your fellow fanficceing, deviating, online surfing aficionados by following the rules and writing fanfiction/creating artwork/etc. to the best of your abilities.

On Self-insertions, Mary Sues, and “About You’s”:
Self-Insertions
Normally I dislike self-insertion fics - particularly since the author(s) tend to make the main (or at least, one of the author's favorite characters) winds up with the author, but I couldn't resist putting myself into one of my humor fics (“Inuyasha’s trip through the Drive Thru”.) Hey... somebody had to drive the car... In any piece I do stick myself in, I am “Mikki” and my sister is “Tippy” – she will probably appear only in the author’s notes in the beginning or end of the chapters. Don’t worry; I’ll never steal any of the characters for myself for “romantic” purposes.
Mary Sue’s and Gary Lou’s
I don’t like them. They tend to be as perfect as can be, the most amazing mix of everything existing in and out of the universe it is supposedly taking place in, and always gets whatever and whoever he/she/it wants. They’re irritating. And they tend to steal your favorite characters.
True, there are always writers who know how to make them. They make sympathetic characters who you can identify with. They don’t always end up with your favorite characters. They are perfect. They’re human, if not genetically, then where it matters most – the heart.
About You
Let’s face it – in the end, all fan fiction, fan art, whatever, is about You . While it's just as important for the author or artist or computer specialist, etc., to enjoy their work, you, the viewer, are the one who is either going to enjoy it or suffer through it. See? It's about you. There is no point to making some irritating story where instead of the character having a name they simply are referred to as “You.” You can only have that word thrown at you for so long before you get irritated. You. You. You. Irritated yet? (Besides, it’s more fun to imagine you are one of the characters of your choosing in the story than to simply find yourself stuck in some irritating situation that some prepubescent, hormonal kid who more likely than not cannot write decides to stick you in.)
